Background on Leokoo.com
Like you, I was grappling with the complexities of our business needs when I stumbled upon WordPress in 2008. Our company’s site was on Drupal, and updating the site proved a significant hurdle. This struggle led to the decision to transition to WordPress.
My journey with WordPress has been nothing short of exhilarating. After pushing the boundaries of my old e-commerce site, I took a leap of faith. I delved into web development at a Coding boot camp sponsored by MaGIC, the Malaysian Startup enabler.
Since then, I’ve held various roles and positions, including at a WordPress plugin company and a Malaysian Startup, before starting a WordPress agency in 2017.
Interestingly, starting an agency was not part of my plan. It was a request from my dad, who was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, that led to this unexpected turn of events.
Over time, due to client requests, we have evolved into a digital marketing agency. Hence, I am also writing about digital marketing on this site.
Out of my passion for seeing WordPress communities grow, I have volunteered my time and effort with official WordPress events, including volunteering for the inaugural WordCamp Asia 2023 in Bangkok and organizing WordCamp Malaysia 2023, WordCamp Malaysia 2024, and the upcoming WordCamp Asia 2025
Why start a blog? Why Leokoo.com?
Frankly, I have more reasons to blog than not to. After reading Simon Sinek’s Start with Why, I realized I need to blog, and monetary reasons are not the main thing (though they help a lot).
I was talking to my neighbor, a real estate agent who is going through a hard time. Digital marketing is foreign to him. He has no website, and the thought of starting one scares him. He’s now into the gig economy as a logistics provider, and he could do much better if he had a website and understood digital marketing.
People like my neighbor inspire me to educate people about WordPress, websites, hosting, digital marketing, and tools they can use, especially if the tools are on reasonably affordable lifetime licenses.
What can you look forward to in this blog?
You can expect to find personal stories of growth, insights about WordPress and digital marketing, in-depth guides and reviews of various tools, and updates on the WordPress community.
I use many tools in my daily work, including WordPress plugins like Fluent Forms, AutomaticCSS, and Frames; themes such as Bricks, Kadence, and Astra; web hosting services like Kinsta, Pressable, and SiteGround; and profitable software tools like MarketMuse, Frase, and Pabbly.
You can expect to see in-depth guides and reviews of these tools. Unlike most bloggers and affiliates, I spend tens of thousands yearly buying and testing all the plugins and tools I recommend. Many of these tools will be on lifetime licenses when the articles are published, so I cover lifetime deals, too.
Finally, I want to be useful to your online journey. If you have any questions, suggestions, or business opportunities, message me via the Contact Us page. I’m also open to reviewing software (with a complimentary lifetime license attached so that I can revisit the software months or years later to update the review).
